An online training event on Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation was held by JTPL for AutoSoft Dynamics (Pvt.) Limited, Lahore. The session was conducted by Muhammad Abu Rehan, Project Manager at JTPL.
The event started with a presentation explaining the need for WCF, its advantages, and implementation in .NET applications. WCF’s Interoperability with existing application communication protocols was also discussed, including different SOA methodologies for serving rich-Internet applications and websites.
The presentation was followed by a demonstration of a simple WCF service, and its development, debugging and configuration using VisualStudio and WCF tools. A client application was demonstrated, explaining the consumption of WCF services. A simple procedure for creating clients and WCF types binding with Windows controls was also demonstrated.
The presentation was delivered using Skype™ and TeamViewer™.
